Family Promise of Blount County

Family Promise of Blount County is a network of local congregations that provide temporary shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes to help them achieve lasting independence.

There are five basic components to the Family Promise Network:

Congregations--provide overnight housing, meals, and hospitality for one week at a time.
Volunteers--are the heart of the network and provide a variety of services such as cooking, playing with children, and staying overnight
Day Center is used by the families from 7:30 am to 5 pm to shower, do laundry, care for pre-schoolers and provide guests with a mailing address.
Transportation is provided to the guests to and from the day center and to needed appointments.
Social Services Agencies--local agencies refer families to the network as well as help find guests housing, jobs, and other services.
