A Week of Prayer

August 23 - 28, 2021

“LET’S JOIN TOGETHER AND PUT OUR PRAYER INTO PRACTICE.“

— PASTOR BILL BOOTH

We are putting the command to pray for one another into practice.  The week of August 15 we will be studying together the biblical instruction about our need to pray for one another.  So during the week of August 22, we want to be very practical and put into action what we are learning by asking our church to spend a week praying for each other.

We have created an online schedule which covers from Monday, August 23, through Saturday, August 28, from 7am to 7pm each day, and we are asking you to commit to an hour block during that time.  Before you panic, I don’t expect you to spend that whole time in prayer. I am asking that you spend the hour in a combination of prayer, Bible reading, meditation, and reflection.  In other words, you commit to being in an attitude of prayer while focusing on your family, church family, and community.  We will provide some additional helps on our website to give you guidance as well.  If every hour is taken, it will mean that 72 people from our church will be engaged in intentional prayer over the course of that week.

We will begin with our sign-ups this week and hopefully have all our times filled by Sunday, August 22.  (See the instructions below to sign up).  We would love for you to tell us about your experience afterwards by filling out the form below.

SIGN-UP INSTRUCTIONS

Click on this link to be taken to the schedule on Appointlet.com: https://appt.link/first-baptist-church-maryville-week-of-prayer/60-minute-meeting. Click on the hour you want to pray, and it will ask you to fill out your name and email address. Once you click submit, it will schedule your hour and send a confirmation email to you and the church office. If you should need to reschedule or cancel, you need to open the confirmation email you received and choose that option.  A confirmation email will let you and the office know of your completed action. Please contact the church office if you need help.

Those in our church family who do not have email can be signed up by someone else who can follow the link, or they can call the office (865-982-5531) and ask the receptionist to help sign them up. They will need an email address, so whomever signs them up may have to use their own email or get them one of their own.
